Cuilpilapan Miravalles Hike to Two Waterfalls and Suspension Bridge with Sloth Option

The walk starts at the reception of Cuilpilapan Miravalles, a property on the slopes of Miravalles volcano near Bagaces, about an hour from Liberia Airport. From there a hike of roughly 3 km follows nature trails with panoramic views, clear pools and local wildlife. Along the route the path crosses a suspension bridge, then follows the river to the point where two falls meet. An optional extra adds sloth watching at the sloth plot on the way back, and sightings are not guaranteed. The property borders the new Jorge Manuel Dengo National Park, and the Las Hornillas attraction sits 2 km away but is not part of this package. Hot springs are nearby. The walk is short and suitable for everyone. Bringing extra clothes and insect repellent is recommended, and booking at least one hour ahead secures a guide. The change from warm lowland weather to the cooler slopes is part of the appeal.
