Godafoss and Forest Lagoon Small Group from Akureyri, 4 Hours with Lagoon Entry (5/5)

A four-hour small-group outing that pairs one waterfall with one soak. It heads to Goðafoss, 12 meters high and 30 meters wide, nicknamed the Waterfall of the Gods because in the year 1000 Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði made Christianity the official religion of Iceland and threw his statues of the gods into it. On the way back the road runs along Eyjafjörður, one of the longest fjords in Iceland, and a stop at the Vaðlaheidi viewpoint gives a view across the fjord to Akureyri for photos. A short drive through Akureyri comes with a few key facts about the town's history. The finish is the Forest Lagoon, a geothermal spa across the fjord from Akureyri among birch and pine trees, with infinity pools and swim-up bars, a sauna, a cold tub and views over Eyjafjörður. Entry to the lagoon and a licensed guide and driver are included. Bottled water and lunch are not. A booking holds up to 10 travelers, guiding is in English, and specialized infant seats are available. The tour is not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health.
