Godafoss, Turf House Museum and Forest Lagoon Soak from Akureyri Cruise Port
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
AkureyriAkureyri sits at the head of Eyjafjord, and this five-hour outing starts there with a drive along the coastline to the Grenjaðarstaður turf house museum. The farm shows how people in this part of North Iceland used to live, and the entry fee is covered. From there the route heads to Goðafoss, where the Skjálfandafljót glacial river drops over the falls. Travel time between each of the three stops is about 30 minutes. The day finishes back in Eyjafjord at the Forest Lagoon, a new geothermal bath, with admission and a towel included. A short lunch break falls somewhere along the way, but lunch itself is not included. WiFi is on board, guiding is in English, and a booking can cover up to 30 travelers. The outing is suitable for all fitness levels. Departure is from a hut marked Saga Travel at the main port, so it works as a shore excursion as well as a day trip.
