This half-day outing east of Quebec City runs as a morning or an afternoon departure and takes about 4.5 hours. The tour starts in Old Quebec, by the Château Frontenac, and heads out to two of the region's best-known sites: Montmorency Falls, which fall from a greater height than Niagara Falls, and the pilgrimage shrine of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré. At the shrine, 45 minutes are set aside to walk through the basilica without a guide. The falls get their own stop in the park that carries their name. Between the two, the route calls at the Albert Gilles Copper Art & Museum, where visitors learn how copper art is made, and drives along a short portion of Île d'Orléans, with a pause at a chocolate shop that is worth walking through for the view from its far side. The vehicle is a coach run by Unitours or Quebec Tours, and the group gathers at the Édifice Thaïs-Lacoste-Frémont on Rue Pierre-Olivier-Chauveau. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure.
