Private Half-Day Copper Museum, Basilica, Montmorency Falls and Île d'Orléans Tour (9/9)

This private half-day tour leaves Quebec City in a morning or afternoon departure, with pick-up and drop-off wherever the group prefers, and takes about 4.5 hours. The first call is the Albert Gilles Copper Art & Museum, which shows the work of the copper artist who gave it his name and has tours, demonstrations and a boutique. Next is the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré. There are 45 minutes to walk through at your own pace, or to join a guided tour of the interior, which the guide offers at no extra charge. Montmorency Falls follow, and then the route drives a short portion of Île d'Orléans, with stops chosen for food. Fromages de l'isle d'Orléans serves cheese in a 17th-century setting with shopkeepers in period clothing, including a faisselle-style unripened cheese and a roasting cheese called the Paillasson de l'Isle. Confiturerie Tigidou makes jams only from island berries, in a 1920s-inspired interior. One of the island's vineyards, in Sainte-Pétronille, has a view of Montmorency Falls and serves wood-fired pizza with its organic wine tasting. A chocolate and ice cream shop is close to Rue Horatio-Walker, a street with a view of Québec City and the mansions at the tip of the island.
