Small-Group Cruise Excursion to Godafoss, Lake Myvatn and Nature Baths from Akureyri
This small-group shore excursion is built for cruise passengers and starts and ends at the port in Akureyri. Several departure times are on offer, so a passenger can pick the one that fits the ship's arrival and sailing times. The route follows Eyjafjörður, one of the longest fjords in Iceland, to Goðafoss and then moves on to the Lake Mývatn area. At the lake the stops are the Skútustaðagígar pseudocraters, the Dimmuborgir lava formations, the Grjótagjá cave with its hot blue water, and the Hverir geothermal area with its fumaroles and boiling mud pots. The trip finishes at the Mývatn Nature Baths, where visitors can use the steam baths and soak in geothermal water. Pickup and drop-off at the harbor are part of the arrangement. The guides double as drivers and timekeepers, and the schedule leaves chances for photos at each stop.
