2-Day Cao Bang Camping Tour: Angel Eye Mountain Night, Ban Gioc and Pac Bo Cave
The night is the point of this two-day trip: one night of camping at Angel Eye Mountain, in a spot the operator describes as wild and empty of people. Around that night sit two full days in Cao Bang, a UNESCO Global Non Nuoc Geopark, starting from Cao Bang city. The first day goes through Ban Gioc Waterfall, over 30 meters high and set on the border between Vietnam and China, with a boat on the river to reach the closest point. Other stops are Ma Phuc Pass, the Phuc Sen forging village, Truc Lam Pagoda for the view from above, and Nguom Ngao Cave. The group returns to Angel Eye Mountain through Trung Khanh and Tra Linh for sunset and Nam Tra waterfall, and eats a group dinner of grilled dishes or hot pot. The second day can start at 6:00 for sunrise photos. After breakfast there is a walk to Nam Tra Waterfall, and the morning can include a climb to the top of Angel Eye Mountain, stand-up paddleboarding or cycling (rentals depend on season and are not included; the climb needs a local guide for an extra fee). The group then drives to the Pac Bo historical site, visits the Ho Chi Minh Museum and returns to Cao Bang city by way of Three Fairies Waterfall, with dinner in the city. Along the way there are chances to learn about the food of the Tay, Nung and Dao peoples.
