Ban Gioc Waterfall 2-Day Overnight Trip from Hanoi with Nguom Ngao Cave
Ban Gioc sits in Cao Bang province, in northeastern Vietnam, on the border with China. Its water drops in three tiers, about 30 meters high and nearly 300 feet wide, and it is counted among the four largest cross-border waterfalls in the world. This trip reaches it from Hanoi in two days, with one night in a hotel near the falls. Day one starts with a hotel pickup in the Old Quarter between 6:00 and 6:30, and the departure from the city follows at 7:15. The day is mostly road, with lunch at a local restaurant, a stop at Nguom Ngao Cave (also called Tiger Cave) and free time at the waterfall. A boat ride close to the falls is possible there, paid separately. Check-in at the hotel is around 16:30, with dinner at 18:30 at the hotel or a local restaurant. Day two begins with breakfast and check-out at 7:00. At 8:00 the driver and guide collect guests for Ban Gioc Pagoda, which looks down over the waterfall, and then drive to Angel's Eye Mountain in Quang Uyen District, a peak with a hole running through it. Lunch is at a local restaurant in Quang Uyen, and the group is back in Hanoi at about 18:30.
