Ban Gioc Waterfall and Cao Bang Geopark 2D2N Car and Motorbike Trip from Hanoi
Cao Bang is recognized by UNESCO as a Global Geopark, and this trip from Hanoi spends two days and two nights in it, moving by car and motorbike. The pace is built around the places between the big sights: windy mountain passes, villages of the Tay, Nung, Dao and H'Mong peoples, and the local food of the province. The first afternoon is for Cao Bang itself. A guide takes guests to the temple of Nung Chi Cao, an 11th-century king and hero of the Tay and Nung peoples, then to a Tay and Nung village in the mountains of the Lam Son base and to the walking street along the Bang river. Dinner is a tasting of local dishes such as Cao Bang sausage, roast duck with seven flavors and river fish. A Dan Tinh and Si Luon singing session can be requested in advance, for a fee. The second day covers the Ma Phuc Pass and a paper-making or forging village, then Nguom Ngao Cave (Tiger Cave) and lunch at the Thac Ban Gioc restaurant. After Truc Lam Zen Monastery, whose pagoda looks over the falls, comes Ban Gioc Waterfall, with a boat ride close to the water. The border between Vietnam and China runs down the middle of the river. The return to Cao Bang takes another road, and the night ends on a sleeper bus or shared car to My Dinh bus station in Hanoi.
