Beginner Waterfall Rappelling at La Reservita: Half Day with Community Lunch
This half-day trip teaches waterfall rappelling from scratch, in a small nature reserve known as La Reservita. Guides start with an induction to the activity and the reserve, explain how the equipment works and how to look after the surroundings. The descent covers three waterfalls between 10 and 25 metres high, in clear water and virgin forest protected by the local communities. Birds and butterflies are part of the scenery, and the mountain air is fresh. Pickup is in Medellín at the place the guests indicate. On the way south of the city the road passes a panoramic point over old rails where the Colombian railway used to cross. After the waterfalls comes a lunch cooked by a neighbour from the community, which the operator presents as support for the local economy. The group is then driven back to the place chosen in Medellín.
