Damajagua 12 Falls Shore Excursion, Jump Crew Guide and Rum Punch Party, Amber Cove

This Damajagua shore excursion starts outside the main gates of the Amber Cove port in Puerto Plata and ends with a party on the bus. The first part is a narrated drive through the Dominican countryside to the waterfalls' base camp, at the edge of a tropical forest. From there the group crosses a river and several streams and climbs uphill for about 30 minutes. The way back is by water. A series of jumps and slides runs through the falls and natural waterslides that centuries of rushing water have carved. The guide, a member of the operator's Jump Crew, takes every jump and slide together with the group from start to finish. Twelve falls are recommended for guests arriving by ship because time in port is limited. The party begins right after the adventure, when the guide becomes the host. Rum punch flows freely and local music plays on the return trip. The whole adventure and party last about four hours, which leaves time to spend at the Amber Cove cruise center afterward.
