Damajagua 7 Falls or 7 Falls plus 5 Zip Lines, Shore Excursion by Time in Port
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
Dominican RepublicCruise ship passengers have two versions of this Damajagua excursion, and the choice depends on how long the ship stays. It is listed among the top ten things to do in Puerto Plata and is aimed at adventure seekers. The first version is 7 Falls, meant for ships that are in port 7 hours or less. Guests jump, slide and swim through a series of seven waterfalls. The second is 7 Falls plus 5 Zip Lines, meant for ships in port at least 8 hours, for passengers who want zip lining added to the waterfalls. Pickup is just outside the cruise terminal, in an air-conditioned bus with water and sodas on board. At the park, a bag with valuables, a towel, dry clothes and flip flops can stay on the bus. Guests meet the local waterfall guides, while the Iguana Mama guide stays with them throughout, and are given a life jacket, a helmet and a bottle of water. Only waterproof cameras are recommended. A moderate uphill hike of 40 minutes leads to the seventh waterfall. Anyone who prefers not to jump can take another way down. From the first fall it is about 15 minutes back to the visitor center for a Dominican buffet lunch and local rum. After lunch the bus returns to port. The tour is for cruise ship passengers only.
