Damajagua 7 Waterfalls with Mamajuana Tasting and Buffet, Taino Bay and Amber Cove

Mamajuana, the Dominican herbal rum drink, is poured at the end of this seven-waterfall trip from Puerto Plata, and a buffet follows. Before that comes the part that earns it. The trail climbs through thick tropical forest, over walkways and past local plants and flowers, to a rest stop at the top of the mountain. Then the group comes back down through the falls, level by level, jumping, swimming and sliding down natural waterslides into clear water. Helmets and life jackets are part of the price, along with entry to all seven waterfalls. The start is at an open-air visitor center with mountains all around it. The buffet has rice, beans, meats, chicken, chops, spaghetti, vegetables and salad. Rum is usually included, along with soda or water. Bottled water and WiFi are on board the air-conditioned vehicle. The tour suits cruise passengers from Taino Bay and Amber Cove as well as hotel guests. A moderate level of fitness is needed. It is not recommended for pregnant travelers or for people with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. Service animals are allowed, and up to 30 travelers can book together.
