Iguazu Falls Argentina from Puerto Iguazu: Upper and Lower Trails, Optional Speedboat
Ratings collected by Civitatis
YPF OPESSA Puerto Iguazú.A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls is visited here on a day that starts in Puerto Iguazu with a pickup between 7 and 8 am, either at the accommodation or at a meeting spot. The group then goes to Iguazu National Park on the border of Argentina and Brazil. Two paths are walked. The upper trail takes about an hour and a half and includes a 1750 m elevated walkway with views of the falls from above. The lower trail is a circular route of about 1800 m with eight viewpoints, covered in about two hours. Drop-off at the hotel in Puerto Iguazu is planned for around 6:30 pm. An optional off-road and speedboat add-on, for participants aged 12 and older, spends 2 hours beyond the usual routes. A rugged vehicle drives deep into the jungle, then a speedboat reaches the base of the Tres Mosqueteros falls, with views of the Brazilian and Argentine waterfalls, and the San Martin falls, the second largest and the closest reachable by speedboat. The boat then runs 6 km downstream, 2 km of it rapids, to the Puerto Macuco pier, and a vehicle returns along the Yacaratia trail to the offices near the Old Cataratas Hotel. Expect to get soaked. Pickup covers hotels in central Puerto Iguazu. A pickup at the Melia Hotel can be chosen when booking, and guests outside the main area or who prefer a meeting point go to the ACA petrol station in Puerto Iguazu. The operator confirms the exact time after the reservation.
