Los Campesinos Reserve Waterfalls and 127-Meter Hanging Bridge near Manuel Antonio
Los Campesinos is a private reserve in the rural community of Quebrada Arroyo, 25 km from Manuel Antonio. It protects more than 33 hectares of primary and secondary forest and is run as a community cooperative focused on sustainable tourism. Jungle trails lead to the waterfalls. The reserve has 3 of them, along with 2 natural pools for swimming, and the trails cross 2 hanging bridges. One of them is among the longest in the Quepos area, about 127 meters (416 feet) across, and a good spot for photos. Lunch comes from the community: a home-cooked, traditional Costa Rican meal prepared on a wood fire, eaten before leaving the reserve. Hiking, waterfalls, wildlife, swimming and local food all fit into the one day, in a less crowded setting.
