Middleham Falls Hike and Ti'tou Gorge Swim: Half-Day from Roseau with Pickup
Two ways of getting wet in half a day. It opens with a 125-minute round-trip hike into Dominica's interior to Middleham Falls, described as the tallest waterfall in the Eastern Caribbean. The trail is medium difficulty and not an easy one: it covers part of the Waitukubuli National Trail, so expect real walking before the reward, a plunge into the pool at the base of the falls. Ti'tou Gorge is next. Swimmers push upstream through the narrow gorge to the hidden falls associated with Captain Jack Sparrow. Life jackets are provided and must be worn for the gorge swim, and the stop is described as fine for people who cannot swim. The last listed stop is the Dominica Botanic Gardens, founded in 1889 for recreation and agricultural research, with Charles Murray of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh as its first curator. Pickup and drop-off are included from hotels or the port within Roseau city limits, and the meeting point is the Tourism Information Office below the Dominica Museum on the Bay Front. National Park fees, snacks and drinks are covered. Food is available to order. The tour runs in all weather, so dress for it, with reef-safe sunscreen only (no spray). Bookings need at least 2 people and take up to 15. Pregnant travelers and children under 3 are not permitted.
