Cuilpilapan Miravalles sits on the heights of Miravalles volcano near Bagaces, one hour from Liberia Airport. The walk follows 9 km of nature trails and begins by crossing a suspension bridge. Guides lead the way along well-kept paths to three viewpoints, with canyons along the route and a hidden waterfall to see. The viewpoints give panoramic views of Miravalles volcano and of the whole province of Guanacaste with its volcanic landscapes. The Cabromuco Fall can be seen in the distance, and the trail looks over Miravalles Jorge Manuel Dengo National Park and its protected nature. Local flora and fauna can be spotted on the way. On arrival, visitors go first to the reception, where the team gives directions to start the tour. A guide is included, but food and drinks are not, and bringing snacks and drinks is recommended. The outing takes about four and a half hours, with up to 15 travelers per booking and guiding in English or Spanish. Moderate fitness is expected. It is not recommended for pregnant travelers or anyone with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health, and service animals are allowed.
