Multnomah Falls and Columbia Gorge Scenic Flight from Troutdale by Envi Adventures
Envi Adventures runs this scenic flight from Troutdale through the Columbia River Gorge, passing Multnomah Falls and dozens of other waterfalls. The aircraft flies over the Columbia River with pine-covered slopes and steep cliffs on either side, and the flight lasts just over an hour. It also covers Portland, so the route combines Oregon's best-known natural landmark with its largest city. Landmarks on the flight include the Portland Oregon sign with its white stag, the cliffs below Crown Point's Vista House, Latourell Falls in Guy W. Talbot State Park, Multnomah Falls, Beacon Rock, Bonneville Lock and Dam and the Bridge of the Gods. Beacon Rock is the plug of a cinder cone about 57,000 years old and part of the Boring Lava Field. Multnomah Falls draws more than 2 million visitors a year, and its flow is usually highest in winter and spring. Flight times are approximate. Weight limits apply: 250 pounds per person up to 600 pounds for a group of 3, or 190 pounds per person up to 925 pounds for a group of 5. Guests must arrive at least 20 minutes before departure. Arriving later means automatic cancellation with no refund.

-
Portland Oregon Sign
The famous Portland landmark shows the outline of the state and a white stag, and it welcomes visitors to the city.
-
Crown Point State Park
Crown Point is one of the most popular viewpoints in the Gorge. The flight passes the cliffs that carry the Vista House and gives a view that cannot be had from the ground.
-
Latourell Falls
A waterfall in Guy W. Talbot State Park. The Historic Columbia River Highway passes nearby and shows the lower falls from some spots. From the air the whole fall is visible.
-
Multnomah Falls
The most visited natural recreation site in the Pacific Northwest, with over 2 million visitors a year. Underground springs from Larch Mountain feed it, and the flow is usually highest in winter and spring. It is also a good place in the National Scenic Area to study geology exposed by floods.
-
Multnomah Falls
The flight passes the falls a second time. The view from above shows the fall, fed by Larch Mountain springs, and the rock exposed by past floods.
-
Beacon Rock State Park
A 57,000-year-old plug of a cinder cone, the most recent extrusion of the Boring Lava Field. Ice age Missoula Floods scoured away the loose flanks of the volcano and left a free-standing monolith that is one of the best-known symbols of the Gorge.
-
Bonneville Lock & Dam
The lock and dam on the Columbia River are among the landmarks on the flight route.
-
Bridge of the Gods
A steel truss cantilever bridge across the Columbia River between Cascade Locks, Oregon, and Washington state near North Bonneville.
