Niagara Falls 2-Day Small-Group Tour from NYC with Corning Glass and Finger Lakes
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
New York CityThis two-day small-group trip from New York trades the city for Niagara Falls, with the long drive upstate broken by two optional stops of 90 minutes each. One is the Corning Museum of Glass, where some 100,000 pieces fill the galleries and glassmakers work live. The other, in the warm months only (generally May to October, once the park opens), is Watkins Glen State Park in the Finger Lakes, a gorge trail of roughly two miles that passes more than a dozen waterfalls. The group reaches Niagara in the evening for the night view tour, built around one park, two islands and three falls. Goat Island and Luna Island give views of Horseshoe, Bridal Veil and American Falls under colored lights, and when fireworks are scheduled that evening the group is taken to see them. The night is spent at a hotel near the falls, such as the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls NY, the Buffalo Marriott Niagara or the Aloft Buffalo Airport, or similar. Day two is open. The optional Classic Tour adds Whirlpool Park, an elevator ride into the gorge at the Cave of the Winds and, in summer, the Maid of the Mist. In the cooler season, when the boat is closed, Old Fort Niagara State Park takes its place. Pickups run from 7:00 am across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Flushing and New Jersey.

New York City
The bus leaves New York in the morning and heads upstate as the skyline gives way to open countryside. Day 1: New York, Corning Museum of Glass, Watkins Glen State Park and the Finger Lakes, then the Niagara Falls night view tour of Goat Island and Luna Island, with Horseshoe, Bridal Veil and American Falls.
-
Corning Museum of Glass
Optional 90-minute stop at the Corning Museum of Glass, a center of the American glass industry. About 100,000 pieces fill the galleries, from colorful artworks to clear crystal sculptures, and live glassmaking demonstrations run alongside.

-
Watkins Glen State Park
Optional seasonal stop of 90 minutes when the park is open. Watkins Glen, known as the Millennium Valley, sits in the Finger Lakes region. Its gorge trail of roughly two miles passes more than a dozen waterfalls cut by glaciers and streams, and the fourteen long, narrow Finger Lakes lie around it like fingers.

Niagara Falls
Night view tour, described as one park, two islands, three falls. The group goes deep into the park for views from Goat Island and Luna Island while Horseshoe, Bridal Veil and American Falls change color under the lights. If fireworks are scheduled that evening, the group is brought to see them. Note: the Watkins Glen stop is seasonal, generally May to October once the park opens. Check the park's official website for exact dates; when the park is closed, the stop is dropped. Note: the hotel is near Niagara Falls, for example the Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls NY - Riverside by IHG, the Buffalo Marriott Niagara, the Aloft Buffalo Airport, or similar.
-
Niagara Falls State Park
The optional Classic Tour goes closer to the falls. At Whirlpool Park the view drops 125 feet into a natural whirlpool, where the river turns sharply and the rapids fold back on themselves. At the Cave of the Winds an elevator takes visitors into the gorge and onto walkways at the foot of the falls, close enough to feel the spray. In summer the tour ends on the Maid of the Mist, a boat sailing since 1846 that enters the misty basin below the falls. In the cooler season, with the boat closed, it visits Old Fort Niagara State Park, a historic fort at the mouth of the Niagara River overlooking Lake Ontario. Note: the Maid of the Mist usually closes in winter and is not visited then; the winter itinerary goes to Old Fort Niagara State Park instead.
