Seven waterfalls are the target of the moderate hike on this day trip from Marrakech, and the route there is built around mountain villages. The vehicle picks travelers up in the morning and drives through the Atlas Mountains, past olive groves, terraced fields and Berber villages, with several photo stops on the way. A traditional Berber house is on the list, where mint tea is served and local customs are explained, and so is a Berber souk with handmade crafts and argan oil cooperatives. At the cooperative, visitors can try cracking argan nuts by hand and buy oil from the women who make it. In Setti Fatma a local guide leads the hike to the waterfalls and talks about the ecology, the wildlife and Berber culture, with natural pools for a dip at the top. An hour of free time is left for lunch by the Ourika River, and lunch is not included in the price. The return drive reaches Marrakech around sunset. The hike is moderate, so travelers should have at least a moderate level of fitness.
