Ourika Valley Waterfalls Hike from Marrakech with Berber Breakfast and Three Course Meal
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
MarrakechThe first stop of this Marrakech day trip is a viewpoint over the Atlas Mountains, where Berber villages sit in the valleys below and the air is cool. Next is a local women's cooperative, where the group is served a full traditional breakfast: mint tea, argan oil, olive oil, honey, amlou and baked bread. The women keep Berber traditions alive through handicrafts, argan oil and other local products, and visitors hear about that work first hand. The route then reaches Setti Fatma, the gateway to the waterfalls of the Ourika Valley. A local guide leads the hike past terraced fields, Berber homes and clear streams, and the falls can be enjoyed with a dip or simply from the bank. The hike can be adjusted to fitness level, and travelers who prefer to rest, pregnant women included, can stay by the river. Afterward a three-course Moroccan meal is served by the water. The group is back in Marrakech in the late afternoon, and the trip runs with small groups and comfortable transport.
