Playa Ventanas Beach Caves, Uvita Waterfalls and Portalon: Natural Slide, Cliff Jumps

This day trip along the Central Pacific coast combines waterfalls with sea caves. It begins with a drive of about an hour to the Uvita Waterfalls, where several falls feed a natural slide, pools for swimming and cliff jumps from various heights. About 30 minutes further on are the Playa Ventanas beach caves. The two caves run about 500 feet each, and their mouths are wide enough for a large vehicle to drive in, so the walk inside does not feel closed in. When the tide is right, body surfing in the waves is possible. The beach beside the caves has gentle waves, and the group spends some time in the water or on the sand. Portalon waterfalls come next, in the middle of the rainforest. The river is easy to reach, the water is refreshing, and low cliff jumps are possible. Lunch is in the town of Dominical, with time for souvenir shopping and a dessert or coffee to go at a local cafe. The cafe stop is not included in the tour price.
