Plitvice Lakes National Park Day Tour from Zadar, Petrcane and Zaton Pickups

Plitvice Lakes sit in the Lika region, in a part of Croatia once called the Devil's Garden. The park is the oldest national park in Croatia and the only Croatian natural site on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Its 16 lakes and their waterfalls count among the most visited sights in the country, and they split into the Upper Lakes and the Lower Lakes. The water is saturated with dissolved calcium carbonate, and with the force of the falling water this builds travertine. This tour takes the day trip with a driver-guide in an air-conditioned vehicle. Pickup runs along a chain of stops: Zaton, Petrcane, the Punta Skala resort and two stops in Zadar. The guided stops are the park itself and Veliki Slap, the largest waterfall in the park. Food, drinks and gratuities are not included, and neither are the entry tickets, which are paid on the day by cash or card. Guiding is in German and English, and up to 30 travelers fit on one booking. The tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers or people with poor cardiovascular health, and a moderate level of fitness is needed. The park asks visitors to respect the rules for ecology, flora and fauna.
