Private Half-Day Trek to Seven Hidden Waterfalls near Sambangan with Lunch
This private half-day trek takes about 4 hours to cover seven hidden waterfalls in the forests of the North Bali mountains, with a guide and lunch. Swimming or jumping into the falls is part of it, done safely, and the guides explain how they work to keep the environment sustainable over the long term. The stops around the trek include the Twin Lakes. Buyan, the larger and more accessible of the pair, sits in the Bedugul volcanic caldera at 1,350 meters above sea level, and Tamblingan is the quieter one, where motorized boats are forbidden. Pucak Manik has three waterfalls in one gorge, including a 40-meter drop. Ambengan has terraced rice fields, natural pools and the nearby Jembong Waterfall, with the coast of Singaraja visible in the distance. Cemara, 35 meters high in Sambangan village, is reached by a trek through rice fields and plantations of coffee, clove and cacao, and Canging is one of the less-visited of Sambangan's seven waterfalls, known locally for riverside camping.

-
Buyan Lake
Buyan is the larger and more accessible of the Twin Lakes, in the Bedugul volcanic caldera at 1,350 meters above sea level. The climate is cool and misty, a contrast with the heat on the coast.
-
Tamblingan Lake
Tamblingan is the other of the Twin Lakes, a high crater lake treated as sacred, with the Bedugul mountains around it. Motorized boats are forbidden, so the only sounds are paddles and birds.
-
Pucak Manik Waterfall
Pucak Manik has three waterfalls in one green gorge, from wide terraced cascades to a 40-meter drop that fills the air with mist. It lies away from the busier tourist trails.
-
Ambengan Rice Terrace
Ambengan is a stretch of North Bali terraced rice fields stepping down the hillsides, with valley views, natural pools and the nearby Jembong Waterfall. The distant coastline of Singaraja can be seen from the top. Suited to quiet trekking and swims.
-
Cemara Waterfall
Cemara is the highest waterfall in the Sambangan area at 35 meters, named after the pine trees that scent the air. The trek runs through rice fields and plantations of coffee, clove and cacao. A longer walk keeps it quiet, and a deep turquoise pool lies at its base for a swim.
-
Canging Waterfall
Canging lies in the Banjar Anyar corner of Sambangan village, a quiet waterfall that is one of the less-visited of Sambangan's seven. Most travelers head for the jumping spots at Aling-Aling instead. It is known for riverside camping, and the natural pool is exceptionally clear.
