North Bali Waterfall Tours: Sekumpul, Gitgit and Beyond
20 listings, from under 30 to more than 120 EUR, typically 30 to 60 EUR. Only 8 name Sekumpul, none names Gitgit, and half run nine hours or more.
Of the 20 North Bali waterfall tours on this page, only 8 name Sekumpul in the title, and none names Gitgit. The biggest listing, with 728 of the 1,409 reviews, is an 8-hour private day in the 60 to 120 EUR band through Munduk, Banyumala, Leke Leke and Banyu Wana Amertha, and it never goes near Sekumpul. A North Bali day typically costs 30 to 60 EUR, a band above the typical price on the Ubud page, and half the listings run nine hours or longer, because the north is a long drive from everywhere in the south. This page sorts the 20 into the trips they really are, reads what each includes and says where the sources disagree. For the closer circuit, see the Ubud waterfalls page and Bali waterfall tours.
The page is organized by trip, not by waterfall, because the same title can mean a 3-hour jump into a pool or a 10-hour hike with a temple. Prices are the figures operators list on 22 October 2026: per person on shared and private tours alike; none of the private listings quotes one price for the whole car. One listing carries more than half of the reviews, so the 4.97 rating is mostly the rating of that single day, and the fourteen listings with fewer than 50 reviews each are best judged by their include lists, not their stars.

North Bali waterfall tour: four trips under one title
Sort the 20 titles and four trips appear. Eight are Sekumpul treks. Three are Aling-Aling days built around jumping and sliding. Two are canyoning. The remaining seven are private day trips through the northern highlands, from Banyumala to Munduk. Seven titles name a temple, Ulun Danu, Handara Gate or a twin-lakes stop, most of them on Sekumpul days. Gitgit, the waterfall on the Bedugul to Singaraja road, is in the page title and in none of the 20 listing titles, and only one listing names it among its stops.
| Trip | Listings | Length | Price band | Reviews |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sekumpul treks | 8 | 8 to 10.5 hours | From under 30 to more than 120 EUR, typically 60 to 120 EUR | 243 |
| Banyumala, Munduk and other highland days | 7 | 7 to 10 hours | Roughly 30 to 120 EUR | 883 |
| Aling-Aling jumping and sliding | 3 | 3 to 10 hours | Under 30 to 60 EUR | 165 |
| Canyoning | 2 | 5 to 8 hours | 120 to 250 EUR | 118 |
The reviews column says what sells. The highland days hold 883 of the 1,409, and one of them, the private day in the 60 to 120 EUR band with lunch, pickup and every entrance fee included, holds 728. Its schedule runs: pickup at 8:00, Munduk at 10:00, Banyumala at 11:00, lunch at 12:00, Leke Leke at 14:00, Banyu Wana Amertha at 15:00, home around 6 pm. Its 728 reviewers rate it 5.0.
The biggest listing on a page called Sekumpul and Gitgit goes to neither.
The highland day: Munduk, Banyumala and the Bedugul road
Four stops on one highland day
The photo shows Munduk, the first stop on that schedule, where the operator's text says you can wade into the rocky pool for a cold dip. Banyumala comes next: twin falls into a pool the same text puts at 20 meters wide and about 2 meters deep at the deepest, with a warning to be careful when you swim.
Banyu Wana Amertha is a 20-minute walk from the car park along a 500-meter path of concrete stones and logs through a village and a coffee plantation, ending at a sign where the path splits to four separate falls. The listing says it opened to visitors in early 2018.
Bring swimwear and a towel. The listing lists towels and swimwear as not included, and the pools are the point of the stop. The Banyuwana and Banyumala listing, in the 30 to 60 EUR band, is the cheaper way to the same pool: 7 hours, private, 89 reviews.
Sekumpul: the trek, the fares and the rules
Sekumpul is a group of falls reached on foot, and two listings count seven. The three Sekumpul listings we opened are three different days. The shared listing under 30 EUR starts in Lemukih village, includes a local guide, water-slide gear, a motorcycle ride from the finish back to the start, an Indonesian meal and coconut water, and adds hotel pickup only as an option. The private day in the 30 to 60 EUR band includes all entrance tickets, a local guide for Sekumpul, a car with fuel and parking, and lunch at a warung near the falls, then continues to Handara Gate and Ulun Danu temple. The private day above 120 EUR is a hike of 10.5 hours with a medium and a long route, the long one adding Fiji Waterfall for 12 hours in total, plus a coffee plantation and Taman Ayun temple. Meals are not included.
| Listing | Price band | Length | Starts from | Tickets, guide and meals |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lemukih Hidden Trekking, Waterslide, Sekumpul and Fiji Waterfall | Under 30 EUR | 8 hours | Lemukih village; hotel pickup optional | All fees, local guide, water-slide gear; Indonesian meal |
| All Inclusive Sekumpul Waterfall Trekking, Handara Gate and Temple | 30 to 60 EUR | 8 hours | Private car | All entrance tickets, local guide; lunch at a warung |
| Sekumpul Private Hiking Tour and Ulun Danu Bratan Temple | 120 to 250 EUR | 10.5 hours | Hotel pickup in listed areas | Tickets and guide; meals not included |
On the rules, the sources disagree, and so we give no fare. Travel blogs differ on whether a guide is compulsory and on what the trek costs, and none that we read cites a village or regency notice. The tours above sidestep the question by listing the guide and tickets in the price. If you go alone, buy only at the official ticket office and not from a booth on the road: one blog reports that the Buleleng tourism office closed fake "registration" stalls in November 2023.
Jumping, sliding and canyoning
Aling-Aling is not a view, it is an activity. The 8-hour listing, in the 30 to 60 EUR band, describes four falls: Kroya with a 5-meter jump and a slide, Kembar with a 10-meter jump, Pucuk with a 15-meter jump, and the 35-meter Aling-Aling itself. About two hours go on jumping and sliding. Insurance, equipment, a private guide, lunch and Handara Gate are included. The 3-hour listing, under 30 EUR, sells only the jumping. The 10-hour one, in the same band, has 11 reviews.
Canyoning is the dear end, with both listings in the 120 to 250 EUR band. The first is a shared 8-hour day of rappelling, slides, jumps, a zip line and trekking, with breakfast, lunch, a hot-spring snack, wetsuit, harness and photos in the price, and says no experience is needed. The second, 5 hours, is billed as advanced: a 50-meter descent with 12 rappels, pickup, lunch and a GoPro. A 15-meter jump is not a swim stop.
Price against length
Long days, wide prices
On the chart the 10-hour days run from under 30 to 120 EUR and the 8-hour days from under 30 to 250 EUR, so length alone predicts little. The two highest dots are not plain sightseeing: 5 hours of advanced canyoning and the 10.5-hour private Sekumpul hike, both in the 120 to 250 EUR band. The lowest are a 10-hour Aling-Aling day, the 3-hour jump and two shared days, all under 30 EUR.
Seventeen of the 20 are private. Private tours are priced per person here too, so the highland day in the 60 to 120 EUR band is that price for each traveler, and four people pay four times that.
Where you start decides the day
One travel blog puts Sekumpul at about 67 km and 2.5 hours from Ubud. That is each way. It explains why the listings that collect you from the south or Ubud run 8 to 10.5 hours, and why half the page is nine hours or more. The Lemukih listing meets you in the village, so it only makes sense if you sleep in the north or arrive by your own car. A base in the north shortens the day.

Questions about North Bali waterfall tours
Is a guide compulsory at Sekumpul?
Sources disagree. Some blogs say a local guide is required, others that you can walk in with the official ticket, and none we read cites a village or regency notice. The tours on this page list the guide and the tickets in the price, which sidesteps the question. Going alone, buy only at the official ticket office.
How far is Sekumpul from Ubud?
One travel blog gives about 67 km and 2.5 hours each way. Listings that start from Ubud or the south run 8 to 10.5 hours for that reason. Staying in the north is the only way to shorten the day.
Can you swim at Banyumala?
The operator text of one listing describes a pool about 20 meters wide and about 2 meters deep at the deepest, and tells visitors to be careful. Bring swimwear and a towel: the same listing says they are not included.
Is the Aling-Aling jump safe?
One listing describes jumps of 5, 10 and 15 meters at three pools, each with a slide, and includes a private guide, equipment and insurance. Jumping and sliding carry real risk. The listing's good-to-know block advises against it for spinal injuries and pregnancy. You can always decline at the edge.
When is the best time for North Bali waterfalls?
The dry months, roughly April to October, are usually given as the safer ones, because paths turn slippery and rivers rise in the rains. We could not confirm the month limits with a primary source, so treat them as a guide and check recent weather.
