Private Krka Waterfalls Tour from Sibenik with Sladic Family Winery Tasting
A private six-hour trip from Sibenik that puts the Skradinski Buk falls, the town of Skradin and a family winery on one route. The guide fills the drive with local history and nature: the first Croatian hydroelectric station, said to be the second alternating-current plant in the world; the eight waterfalls of the Krka, one of them underwater; the limestone deposits behind the travertine; Roman roads and trade routes; hajduks; karst, mills and caves; and the region's only poisonous snake. Skradinski Buk is the longest waterfall on the river, with cascades, islands and lakes seen from paths and bridges. Skradin sits at the park entrance, and its surroundings have been settled since the Neolithic. The last stop is the Sladic winery in Plastovo, about 10 kilometers north of Skradin, where the family has made wine for generations. The tasting covers five wines with food pairings, one liqueur and olive oil, with a tour of the grapes and vineyards and an explanation of the local microclimate. Bottled water, alcoholic drinks, brunch, parking and the fuel surcharge are included, in an air-conditioned vehicle. The Krka park ticket and gratuities are not. Guides speak Russian, English or Croatian, and up to 8 travelers can book together.
