Krka tours from Zadar and Šibenik: morning, afternoon or private

Shared days are roughly 30 to 120 EUR and the cheapest asks for the park ticket in cash. 16 listings read on 22 October 2026.

Eight shared Krka days leave from Zadar or Šibenik, priced from under 60 to more than 120 EUR, and the cheapest is the one that makes you pay twice. The morning bus in the 30 to 60 EUR band asks for the park ticket in cash on the day. The afternoon tour in the 60 to 120 EUR band already includes it. In July, with the park's group rate added, the dearer-looking tour is a little cheaper, and in April the two come out level. This page reads the 16 listings from Zadar and Šibenik one at a time: morning against afternoon, the Zadar to Split run by way of the park, the speedboat and the private half days from Šibenik, and what a cruise passenger can fit into a port day. Review counts here are small, and we say where that matters.

For entrances, ticket prices by month and the park rules, see the Krka National Park page. For the 90 km run from the south, see Krka waterfalls tours from Split. The Croatia page sets Krka against Plitvice. Figures come from listings read on 22 October 2026, 8 of them opened in full.

Krka tour from Zadar: the shared days compared

The morning bus leaves Zadar around 7:00 to 8:00, reaches Skradin in about an hour by the operators' figures and brings you back between 16:00 and 16:30. The afternoon versions meet near midday, and one of them flips the order: free time in Skradin first, then the boat up to the falls. Both kinds are small groups. The cheapest buses take up to 15 travelers per booking, and the Zadar Adventures afternoon tour up to 14.

Do the sum for your month. At the park's group rate, which the Split operators quote and the Zadar listings do not print, the gate is lower in April, May and October than from June to September. The morning bus with the gate added ends up in the same band as the afternoon tour, a little dearer in summer and level in spring. The afternoon tour already includes the ticket, so it costs the same in both seasons. So the afternoon is the better buy in summer and a tie in spring. The morning bus gives you more hours, 9 to 10 against 6 to 9, and a hotel pickup in Zadar.

In July the afternoon tour that includes the ticket is cheaper than the morning bus.

What the afternoon tour changes

The photo shows the water below Skradinski buk framed by green leaves, the kind of view the boat brings you to. Two of the afternoon listings say a later visit avoids the early crowds. We did not measure crowds, so take it as the operators' claim. What the later start does change is the length: the afternoon listings run 5 to 9 hours rather than 9 to 10.

Zadar to Split by way of Krka

The park sits about halfway between the two cities, and Zadar to Split is roughly 160 km by motorway. One Zadar bus listing says the park is halfway to Split and that you can continue to Split in one day, with luggage left at the bus station. Ask the morning listing at 30 to 60 EUR whether it can drop you at the Skradin or Šibenik bus stop so you can carry on by public bus. The listing says the buses to Split run all the time, which is the operator's word, so check a timetable. A private version, in the 120 to 250 EUR band for six hours, drives you from Zadar to Split with a 3-hour stop at Krka and leaves the ticket and lunch to you.

Šibenik: the nearest base

Šibenik is the closest town on the coast. The speedboat listing leaves from the waterfront across from a restaurant called Lanterna, takes 6 hours, sits in the 120 to 250 EUR band and includes the ticket. Its text promises a swim under the waterfall, which the park does not allow, so ignore that line. Private half days from Šibenik run 3 to 4 hours at 500 to 1,000 EUR, and the private tours with a wine tasting are cheaper, at roughly 120 to 500 EUR. Šibenik is also where the Jaruga plant first sent its power in 1895. The Krka page has that story.

Cruise passengers

Two listings are written for ships that dock at Zadar, in the 120 to 250 EUR band for 6 hours and the 250 to 500 EUR band for 5 hours. The cheaper one says it is designed to fit your ship's schedule. Viator titles it private and its guide is private, but it is a fixed-price day built around the ship's timetable. It includes a lunch package, charges the park ticket in cash and leaves free time in Zadar. The dearer one is private. A half day in the 120 to 250 EUR band from the same operator as the cheaper one mentions a private guide but is sold as a shared listing, and sits between the two kinds. Before you book any of them, compare the tour's return time with your all-aboard time and ask what happens if the bus is late.

Private tours: seven listings, no pattern

Chart of the prices of the 16 Krka Tours from Zadar & Šibenik listings on waterfalls.travel, median 140 EUR

Where the money goes

The chart plots the 16 listings by length and price. The shared tours sit low and to the right: 30 to 120 EUR at 6 to 10 hours, with the dearer ones at roughly 60 to 250 EUR at 5 to 6 hours. The private diamonds sit high and to the left, roughly 120 to 1,000 EUR at 3 to 6 hours, and the shortest are not the cheapest. The chart counts eight private listings. One of them, the ten-hour morning bus at 30 to 60 EUR, is a shared coach by its own description, so we count seven.

Most private tours here are priced per person, like the shared seats. Three quote one price for the whole group: the six-hour day from Zadar in the 250 to 500 EUR band, which says up to 8 people in its title and stops in Zadar's old town, and the half days from Šibenik in the 500 to 1,000 EUR band. For those three, divide by your party. Split among eight, the Zadar day comes out below the price of an afternoon seat, with no wait for a bus; split between two, it comes out well above it. For the other private listings, multiply instead.

How to choose

For two people in summer, the afternoon tour with the ticket in is the plainest buy. If you want the longest day and a hotel pickup, take a morning bus and carry the gate fee in cash. If you are heading to Split anyway, ask the morning listing about dropping you at Skradin, and skip the return. A group-priced private day pays only for a big party: split among eight it comes out below the price of an afternoon seat, split among four it comes out above it. And do not pick a Šibenik listing on price alone. Their review counts are thin: 28, 11 and 8 for the private days, and 46 for the speedboat.

How thin the reviews are

All 16 listings together have 334 reviews. The most reviewed has 76, at 4.3, and two Elegance Tours listings hold 26% of the total. Ten listings have fewer than 15 reviews, so a 5.0 here can mean three people. The weighted 4.65 is a fair summary of a small sample. Compare it with 33,085 reviews on the Split page before you conclude that Zadar tours are worse.

Where Zadar bookings go wrong

The first is comparing the morning bus and the afternoon tour without the gate. The second is assuming pickup: 75% include it, but only from Zadar itself, and a pickup outside the city can cost extra. The third is turning up without cash for a listing that collects the ticket at the bus. The fourth is a dip at the falls, which the speedboat's text still promises. The fifth is leaving luggage at a hotel when the tour could drop you at the Split bus. Read the inclusions list, not the title.

Questions about Krka tours from Zadar and Šibenik

How far is Krka from Zadar?

About an hour by bus to Skradin, by the operators' figures, and roughly 160 km of motorway separate Zadar and Split with the park about halfway. A morning bus is out for 9 to 10 hours, with the park ticket paid in cash on the day, and the afternoon tours run 5 to 9 hours with the ticket included.

Is the park ticket included in the price?

On the two morning buses in the 30 to 60 EUR band it is not, and you hand the operator cash. The afternoon, half-day and speedboat listings already include it. The park's group rate is lower in April, May and October than from June to September, which is the rate the Split operators quote; the Zadar listings print no figure.

Can I go to Krka from Zadar without a tour?

Yes. The park sells its own tickets, and the price covers the Skradin boat between April and October. A tour pays for the drive and the pickup. With a car and a base near Šibenik, the park price list is all you need.

Is a private tour from Zadar worth it?

For a group, sometimes. The private listings run roughly 120 to 1,000 EUR. Most are priced per person like shared seats, and three quote one price for the whole group; one of those lists up to 8 people in the 250 to 500 EUR band. For two or three people, a shared afternoon tour with the ticket included costs far less.

Can I swim at Krka on these tours?

Not at the falls: the park rules it out at Skradinski buk and allows it elsewhere only in marked areas at Roški slap, Stinice and Pisak, from 1 June to 30 September. The two morning buses mention the beach at Skradin, which is not one of those areas, so ask the operator. Ignore any listing that promises a dip under the waterfall.

Starting from Split instead?

Cheaper seats, 7.5 to 10 hours, and a park ticket you pay on top.

Data verified on . 16 Viator listings read on 22 Oct 2026, 8 opened in full. The gate figures are the Split operators' own, the group rate on the park's 2027 list.
