Rio Celeste Combo: Tubing, Blue Waterfall Hike and Wildlife with Lunch
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
AlajuelaDepartures are listed from La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano), Tamarindo Beach, Flamingo Beach and the Papagayo area, with a local expert guide along for the day. The first goal is Tenorio Volcano National Park, on the slopes of an active volcano, where trails through the rainforest lead to the turquoise Rio Celeste waterfall. A short stop on the way is for the Tree of Peace, 400 years old, and its photographs. Then comes the water: 1.5 hours of tubing down the blue river, with several stops to swim and to snack on fresh regional fruit. A typical lunch follows the tubing. The drive back follows the route with the best chances to see wildlife, such as two types of sloths, colourful frogs, monkeys and exotic birds. The last stop is the souvenir market, before the return to the place where guests are staying. Those who prefer to drive themselves can meet the private guide in Katira centro, Guatuso.
