Rio Celeste Hike to Bride's Veil Waterfall, Viewpoint and Hot Springs
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
La FortunaThis hike explains why the Rio Celeste is blue. The colour appears where the Buena Vista and Roble rivers meet, both of them fed from Tenorio Volcano. Sulfur from the volcano reacts with calcium carbonate from the rain, and the different concentrations of minerals turn the water a light blue. The operator calls this one of the most beautiful attractions in Costa Rica. The route leads to the waterfall known as Bride's Veil, described as the best part of the adventure, and goes on to the Tenorio Volcano viewpoint, the thermal mineral hot springs and the volcanic mud ponds. Guests meet at the Sloth Park reception in La Fortuna, 600 east of the Central Park, and should be there about 10 minutes before the tour starts. Parking at the meeting point is free and secure.
