The Rio Celeste lies in the canton of Guatuso, in the province of Alajuela, inside Tenorio Volcano National Park, and it is one of the best-known sights in Costa Rica. This tour from Guanacaste is built around the Celeste River waterfall and a walk on the trails of the national park. The operator calls the sloth spotting the best part of the day. Besides sloths, the area is home to birds, snakes and frogs, and with luck the tapir, the largest mammal living in Costa Rica. The stop at the Celeste River also covers typical food. Scarlet macaws can be seen in parts of the North Pacific side of Costa Rica.
