Sloths, birds and other wildlife are the focus of this day around Miravalles volcano, with a local guide helping to spot them. The route includes hanging bridges and tropical waterfalls, where the stop is for viewing and photos only, since swimming is not part of the experience. At the foot of the volcano the group sees steaming fumaroles and bubbling mud pots, then takes a volcanic mud bath, a natural sauna and a soak in the Las Hornillas hot springs. The wildlife stop is run by Spring Paradise Bijagua Tours, and sightings vary because the animals live freely. Lunch is the casado: rice and black beans, salad, sweet plantains and a choice of chicken, fish, beef or a vegetarian option, with a fresh fruit drink. Transport from selected hotels and entrance fees are included. Several meeting points with parking are available, in Flamingo, Liberia, Tamarindo, Coco and Guardia.
