Small Group Rincon de la Vieja Hike with Oropendola Waterfall and Hot Springs Lunch

The hike covers the foothills of the active Rincon de la Vieja volcano, where fumaroles, bubbling mud pots and boiling hot springs are on view. The trails pass tropical flowers, tall trees and clear streams for about two hours, and the wildlife can include coatis, spider monkeys, white-faced capuchins, peccaries, deer and birds such as toucans, curassows, bellbirds, parrots and hummingbirds. Oropendola Waterfall is part of the day, with a stop to swing and take pictures, and so are the Rio Negro hot springs. Private transportation, national park and waterfall entrance fees, a guide, lunch and water are included. Gratuities are not. This is a small-group outing with up to 10 travelers per booking and guiding in English or Spanish, and the whole day takes about nine hours. Moderate fitness is expected. The tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers or anyone with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health.
