Arenal River Canyon Rappelling with Canopy Lines and Lunch at La Roca Bistró

This three-hour trip uses the Arenal River Canyon near Arenal Volcano. It packs four rappels down canyon walls, optional jumps into natural pools, a stretch of river walking and two canopy lines that cross the canyon into one outing. No previous experience is needed: the guides explain each piece of equipment step by step before the first descent. The four rappels range from 50 to 92 feet (15 to 28 meters). Afterwards the group strolls along the riverbank, then walks through the woods to La Roca restaurant for natural drinks and a typical Costa Rican lunch, served as a buffet. Showers and changing rooms are on site, and the price includes bottled water, fresh towels, a bilingual guide (English and Spanish) and air-conditioned round-trip transportation from La Fortuna. Hotel pickup outside the central La Fortuna area, photographs and tips are not included. Bring a camera, closed shoes or tennis shoes, repellent, a swimsuit, extra clothes and sunblock. A moderate level of fitness is expected, and the tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with poor cardiovascular health. Up to 25 travelers can join per booking.
