The route continues to Bijagua de Upala, a rural town between the Miravalles and Tenorio volcanoes. Guided walks follow rainforest trails with sloths, howler monkeys, tropical birds and frogs such as the blue-jeans dart frog. A family-run chocolate and coffee farm closes the loop: guests learn the traditional production methods, take part in hands-on steps and taste fresh local products. A Costa Rican lunch is part of the day.
