Monkeys, sloths and a river float share this day with a waterfall hike. A short hike leads to the Llanos de Cortez waterfall and its large pool. A Safari Float follows on the Rio Corobici, with eyes on monkeys and birds, and lunch afterwards is a hot Tico meal with a fruit drink at a restaurant overlooking the river. From there the route heads north on the Pan American highway into hills with sloths, monkeys and Blue Jean dart frogs near the river banks, and the naturalist guide helps spot toucans too. Pick-up is by an English-speaking naturalist guide in a private vehicle at a Guanacaste beach hotel. Wildlife cannot be cued, so there is no guarantee that every animal, bird or reptile on the list will appear.

  1. You will be picked up by a naturalist

An English-speaking naturalist guide picks guests up in a private vehicle at their Guanacaste beach hotel. The drive passes the outskirts of Liberia, the capital of Guanacaste, and leads to open hills and a short hike to the pool of the Llanos de Cortez waterfall. A Safari Float on the Rio Corobici follows, looking for monkeys and birds. Afterwards a hot Tico lunch with a fruit drink is served at a restaurant that overlooks the river. The route then continues north on the Pan American highway into dense hills with sloths, monkeys and Blue Jean dart frogs and other colorful frogs near the river banks. The animals are wild and none are caged, and the guide shares facts, points out wildlife and explains plants and trees. Wildlife cannot be cued, so there is no guarantee of seeing every animal, bird or reptile listed.
