Blue Hawaiian flies this tour in an Airbus EC 130, a helicopter designed for air tours. The company says all its aircraft carry current technology, materials, systems, safety features and avionics. The flight starts over the deep valleys of the ancient West Maui Mountains, where knife-edged ridges and mist-shrouded peaks separate the valleys that earned Maui the nickname The Valley Isle. Waterfalls drop from tall cliffs into streams on the rainforest floor. The pilot is also a State of Hawai'i Certified Tour Guide and explains the history and culture of what passes below, including the famous 'Iao Valley. The helicopter then crosses the Pailolo Channel to Moloka'i, the Friendly Isle. Moloka'i has the world's highest sea cliffs, Hawai'i's tallest waterfall, remote valleys and the Kalaupapa peninsula. Along the way the flight passes Kahului, Wailuku, Waihe'e, Kahakuloa Bay, Pu'u Kukui (the highest peak of the West Maui Mountains), Kapalua and Pelekunu Bay, whose valley holds one of the last free-flowing streams in Hawai'i.
