Chase Waterfalls: 180-Foot Hidden Waterfall Hike with Life Vests and Fruit Stop
The destination is a 60-meter (180-foot) waterfall that few groups reach. The day starts at 8:00am at a local bakery in San Juan for coffee or tea, and a pickup time is assigned by location for anyone who needs one. A scenic 45-minute drive overlooks San Juan and the surrounding metro area on the way to the trailhead. A brief safety meeting comes first, with life vests handed out and shoes changed. The trail is well maintained and follows the river upstream, getting progressively harder over about 30 minutes. Quick rest stops at pools and smaller waterfalls give the guide a chance to talk about the flora, fauna and history of the surrounding city and La Isla del Encanto. At the 60-meter waterfall, the guide cuts seasonal fresh fruit right in front of the falls. There is time to swim and take pictures before the walk back to the vehicles. Photos and videos are taken throughout the hike.
