Columbus Park
Discovery Bay is home to Columbus Park. Christopher Columbus landed here in 1494 and named it Puerto Seco, Dry Harbour, after failing to find fresh water. Good water turned up about 5 miles west, and that place became Rio Bueno, Good River. In 1947 the town was renamed Discovery Bay, after the Spanish landing led by Columbus on 4 May 1494. The park displays several old relics and artifacts. Expect a brief stop for photos.
