Espiritu Santo River Waterfall Hike in Remote El Yunque, Small Group from Condado (12/12)

This El Yunque hike skips the waterslides. It goes to a remote part of the forest that is hard to find on your own, and the route follows the Espiritu Santo River up the valley. The day starts in Condado, with an air-conditioned vehicle and a drive of about an hour into the forest. The operator runs small groups in small vehicles, and the guide uses the drive to explain the history of the area. From there the hike follows the river for about an hour. The river is crossed along the way, and there are natural swimming pools to stop at, plus spots for cliff jumping. The trail ends at a waterfall that drops into a very large pool. Lifejackets, bottled water, snacks and entry to El Yunque National Forest are included. Lunch is not. The hike demands a high level of physical fitness. It is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, asthma, mobility issues, poor cardiovascular health, recent injuries or surgery, and it is not suitable for pregnant travelers. The outing takes about 5 hours, with up to 15 travelers per booking and guiding in English and Spanish.
