Flexible Small-Group Erawan Falls and Tham Krasae Day Tour with a Local Guide
The operator sells this day on flexibility: the itinerary can be adjusted within the time of the tour program, and the guide is a local who also shares Thai culture, from food recommendations to lesser-known places a traveler asks about. It is a small-group format, and the guides speak Thai and English. The day starts at Erawan Waterfall, with a hike from level 1 up to level 7 and a chance to swim at each level or only at the top. The guide then takes the group to a local Thai lunch. Next is Tham Krasae cave, a prisoner of war base camp during World War II, with an old Buddha statue inside where people pray and ask for blessings. The Kanchanaburi War Cemetery comes after that, where visitors walk among the gravestones of prisoners of war and others who died building the Thai-Burma Death Railway. The last stop is the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, covering the railway's history and the hardships of the prisoners who built it, before the drive back to Bangkok. Private transport, bottled water, lunch and all fees and taxes are included. Alcoholic beverages are not. Up to 15 travelers can book. The day suits all fitness levels but is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health.
