Herzegovina Day Tour from Mostar: Blagaj, Žitomislići Monastery, Počitelj, Kravice
Four stops in about eight hours leave some energy for an evening in Mostar, and that is the reasoning behind this Herzegovina day tour. It leaves from iHouse Travel at 9 a.m. and visits Blagaj, the Orthodox monastery of Žitomislići, Počitelj and the Kravice waterfalls. At Blagaj the guide leads a 50-minute tour of the 15th-century tekke under its cliff and explains the life of the whirling dervishes. Free time follows for panoramic spots, local food or a Bosnian coffee. The 16th-century Orthodox church at Žitomislići is still home to monks, and the guide talks through the religious heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Počitelj is a 15th-century citadel in a natural amphitheater above the Neretva, with an hour to climb its narrow streets to a 360-degree view of the valley and to taste fruit and drinks from local sellers. Kravice, with falls 30 meters high, gets two hours for swimming in the Trebižat, a meal at a local restaurant or a cold drink. Entrance tickets to Blagaj (5 EUR per person) and Kravice (10 EUR per person) are not included.
