La Fortuna Waterfall Skip-the-Line Admission Ticket with River Trail and Viewpoint Access
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
La FortunaThis is an entrance ticket only, with no guide and no transport. It covers skip-the-line admission to La Fortuna Waterfall, the river trail down to the swimming pool, the upper scenic viewpoint trail and on-site parking. The waterfall drops about 70 meters and is fed by the Fortuna River and small tributaries that rise in the mountains of Arenal Volcano National Park. Temperatures there run between 18 and 35 degrees Celsius, which feeds dense vegetation and a varied fauna. Cerro de los Perdidos, Placas de Mayo and Cerro Chato stand around it, on rocky bases of real geological interest. Reaching the water means descending about 500 steps, and more than 100,000 people make the trip each year. Swimming is allowed as long as the weather permits. The site is wheelchair accessible, strollers are fine and service animals are allowed. Children under 8 are free, and the last entrance time is 4:00pm. Food and drinks are on sale at the site. Transport to and from the waterfall, a guide and gratuities are not included. The visit is not recommended for pregnant travelers, travelers with spinal injuries or those with heart complaints, high blood pressure or poor cardiovascular health. A booking takes up to 15 travelers.
