La Leona Waterfall, Cliff Jumping and Colorado River Tubing, Private Tour
A full day for people who want more than a walk. The morning has two parts: optional cliff jumps on the Colorado River, from about 27 feet up to 45 feet with three heights to choose from, and the La Leona hike. That hike lasts 2 hours, runs through dry forest at a moderate to challenging level, and uses ropes, ladders and caves. The finish is a swim into the hidden waterfall cavern, pulling along a guide rope. Lunch is a traditional casado. The afternoon belongs to the river: 1 hour 30 minutes of white water tubing down the Colorado River, at the foot of the volcano, over rapids and currents. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory for the whole day. Tennis shoes or sturdy hikers work, and water shoes and sandals are not allowed. A good fitness level is needed, and the tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers or for people with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. Private transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle is included, along with lunch, bottled water, beer, snacks and a video of the day. The tip for the guide is optional. The outing is set at about 7 hours, in English or Spanish, for up to 15 travelers.
