Level 2 Canyoning at Salto do Cabrito with Hot Springs, Sao Miguel Azores

Salto do Cabrito is a canyon with a distinctive shape: steep natural walls close in around the river, and the whole valley sits in a geothermal area. Several hot springs run along the watercourse, and the canyon can be descended in any season. This is the Level 2 route. It combines jumps, slides and rappels down the rock slopes and past the waterfalls. Guests meet the guide at Salto do Cabrito, where the canyoning equipment is handed out before the descent begins. The starting point is a food truck near Ribeira Grande, and the guides wait next to it. The group leaves on schedule, so arriving at least 10 minutes early is part of the plan.
