Lifetime Travel CR: Llanos de Cortez Swim and Las Hornillas Walkable Crater with Mud Baths
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
Guanacaste and NorthwestLifetime Travel CR, a veteran-owned and operated company, runs this day around the water and fire of Guanacaste. It starts with a swim in the pool of the Llanos de Cortez waterfall, which has a beach-front area for resting and shallow water that suits children. Next is the rainforest at Bijagua, where wildlife roams free and sloths, toucans and small colorful frogs are on the list, and monkeys can appear too. The main stop is Las Hornillas, billed as the only walkable live crater: guests walk among bubbling mud, fumaroles and geysers, then use the hot springs, volcanic mud baths and sauna, all in natural contact with volcanic activity. Round-trip transport, an expert guide, lunch and all fees are included.
