Los Salados Cloud Forest Hike to Chorro de las Campanas from El Poblado
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
MedellínThis hike goes into the Los Salados Natural Park, a cloud forest reserve about 40 minutes from Medellín. The trail follows forest paths and rivers to Chorro de las Campanas, the waterfall whose name means "the Bells", with plenty of green along the way. The reserve is home to cougars, tigrillos, opossums, orchids and many birds, among them the candela chieftain. The operator describes the day as a way to connect with Pacha Mama (nature) and to get to know the fog forests of Colombia. The group meets at 9:00 AM at the Chicken Ten restaurant in El Poblado (street 10 #43c-05) and travels by private vehicle to the start of the ecological walk. The return to Medellín is at about 2:30 PM. Transportation, snacks and insurance are included. Comfortable clothes are recommended. Hikers without suitable shoes can rent boots for 10,000 COP, about 4 USD.
