Kisambi Tours runs this day from Materuni village, only a 15 km drive from the center of Moshi. Professional guides lead the walk, and the day mixes nature with the daily life of the local people. The hike is not difficult. The operator says even people in their 60s manage it. Along the way there are views of Kilimanjaro and Moshi town, and the guide tells stories of Chagga culture, village life, plants and animals. The pool at the base of the falls is open for a swim. The program covers a visit to Materuni waterfall, a coffee tour, a hot lunch and a taste of local banana beer. The coffee tour is interactive: guests learn how coffee is grown, processed and roasted, and drink a fresh cup. The day ends at Kikuletwa Hot Springs, where the water is warm and clear, with a swing over the pool and small fish nibbling at the feet. After the tour, the group is driven to a hotel in Arusha or Moshi, or to the airport.

  1. Materuni Waterfalls

Materuni is a village on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. An easy hike leads to the waterfall, with the guide sharing stories of Chagga culture, village life, plants and animals, and the pool at the base is open for a swim. A hot local lunch with banana beer comes next, then an interactive coffee tour covering growing, processing and roasting, with a fresh cup at the end. The day finishes at Kikuletwa, and a transfer follows to a hotel in Arusha or Moshi, or to the airport.

  2. Kikuletwa Hotsprings

Kikuletwa Hot Springs, also called Chemka Hot Springs, is a hidden oasis in the Tanzanian savannah with fig trees and green growth around it. The water is not boiling but naturally warm and clear. Underground springs feed the turquoise pool, and small fish nibble at the feet. People float in the sun, use the swing into the water, or just sit and enjoy the quiet.
