Mount Bromo Sunrise and Tumpak Sewu Waterfall Private Day Tour from Malang
Short on time but unwilling to pick between Bromo and Tumpak Sewu? This private day does both, and it is a long one. The late-night departure from Malang climbs through cool mountain air to the Tengger highlands and the Sunrise point, where travelers wait in the dark until the silhouettes of Bromo, Batok and Semeru appear against an orange sky. After sunrise comes the climb up the stairs to the crater rim of Mount Bromo, to look down into the smoking crater of an active volcano. By midday the day moves to Tumpak Sewu, a curtain waterfall that drops into a deep green gorge. The view from the top is followed by the trek into the gorge to the base of the falls, in mist and the sound of rushing water. The last stop is Goa Tetes, a hidden cave where water trickles over rock formations and natural pools sit in the dark. Private transportation, bottled water, the entrance fee, fuel and parking are included; lunch is not. Moderate fitness is needed, and the trip is not recommended for pregnant travelers or anyone with poor cardiovascular health. Up to 6 travelers per booking, with guiding in English.

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall
Tumpak Sewu is a massive curtain waterfall dropping into a deep green gorge. The view from the top comes first.
