Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake Guided Day Tour from Toronto with Boat Ride
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
TorontoThis day tour from Toronto begins in the morning at Niagara-on-the-Lake, not at the falls, which brings the group back to downtown Toronto before the heavy traffic and leaves the evening open. The stop in the town covers the War of 1812 history, British colonial architecture, flower displays, bakeries and coffee, and a walk to the shore of Lake Ontario with a view of the Niagara River and Fort Niagara. The route to the falls follows the Niagara River Parkway, called the prettiest Sunday drive in the world, past large homes, the Brock Monument and the trans-Canada trail, with fruit stops possible in summer. Further stops are the Floral Clock, where the guide takes a group photo, a viewing platform at the Sir Adam Beck power plants, and the Niagara Gorge Platform above the Whirlpool Rapids, where the guide explains erosion and almost 13,000 years of geology. The highlight is a catamaran boat ride into the mist of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, with admission, line bypass and souvenir ponchos included. Time on your own can go to Table Rock Welcome Centre, Journey Behind the Falls, Niagara Fury or Clifton Hill. The Skylon Tower replaces the boat only when the boat is not running. Return to downtown Toronto is before 5 PM.
