A day trip from Toronto to Niagara Falls by modern coach, led by a licensed Niagara Parks Commission guide who talks through the day. The stops are the falls themselves, the Floral Clock (seasonal), the Niagara Whirlpool and a viewpoint over the Niagara River. The route follows the Niagara Parkway, which Winston Churchill called the prettiest Sunday drive in the world, with about an hour on the road and three short photo stops. Driving time is around 1 hour 45 minutes each way, so the coach has the hours between for the sights. On the way the guide points out the Sir Adam Beck generating stations and explains how the river is diverted to feed them, and a short rest stop at a chocolate and maple syrup factory includes a tasting of several maple syrups and fresh chocolates. At the falls there are at least three hours to explore alone. Most travelers use that time for the Hornblower Niagara City Cruise, a sailing of about 20 minutes that runs seasonally from May until November, or for the Skylon Tower. Both can be bought on the day, and the guide sells discounted Skylon tickets. Lunch is on your own at one of the restaurants or fast food places in town, or on the grass at the brink of the falls.
